Recently there has been an article floating around Facebook entitled: “HHS Website Gives Little Girls Info on Masturbation, Birth control, Gay & Anal Sex.” Repulsive I know; it seems to me that our society has sunk into the depths of depravity, and completely lost the plot. That we are now encouraging our children to masturbate, to engage in gay and anal sex is beyond the pale.
This website by HHS (Human Health Services) is aimed at young girls between the ages of 10 years old and 16 years old. As a mother and a grandmother I can tell you that even a 16-year-old child is still very much a child in both their thinking and their behavior, cognitively they are still not fully developed or able to make sound, rational decisions about their lives, let alone about sex! At 16 I was still playing with Barbie dolls! And at 10 years old, sex never even entered my consciousness, let alone my daily activities, which included playing with my dolls, riding my bike and climbing trees! We are pushing out children to grow up too fast, not allowing them to be children, and enjoy the innocence of childhood.
The fact that this HHS web site is encouraging little girls, yes, they are little girls, to engage in anal sex, in mutual masturbation and gay sex, is actually a form of Childhood Sexual Abuse, as defined by Pandora’s Project:
Child Sexual Abuse, Medem defines child sexual abuse as “any sexual act with a child performed by an adult, or an older child.” Child sexual abuse could include a number of acts, including but not limited to:
- Sexual touching of any of the body, clothed or unclothed;
- Penetrative sex, including penetration of the mouth;
- Encouraging a child to engage in sexual activity, including masturbation
- Intentionally engaging in sexual activity in front of a child;
- Showing children pornography, or using children to create pornography;
- Encouraging a child to engage in prostitution. http://www.pandys.org/whatissexualabuse.html
As noted in bullet point number three, encouraging any child to engage in sexual activity, including masturbation is deemed as Child Sexual Abuse. In the original article it states that the HHS website gives “health advice” but that the site also “includes a glossary that explains anal sex, and mutual masturbation.” Why would there need to be a glossary that explains what anal sex and mutual masturbation is to a child? What is the purpose of that? Honestly, does a child need to know this information! NO is the short and ONLY answer to that question. And by explaining these sexual terms to children, are they not encouraging them to participate in said activities?http://thealexandrianva.com/2013/06/03/hhs-website-gives-little-girls-info-on-masturbation-birth-control-gay-anal-sex/
So could HSS be guilty of Child Abuse for every child who goes onto their website, and subsequently engages in any form of sexual activity including masturbation mutual or otherwise? In this grandmother’s opinion, it warrants further investigation. I would not be at all impressed if any one of my grandchildren came upon this website.
Let’s look at this from another angle shall we, consider how you would feel if a complete stranger walked up to your 10 or 16-year-old child in the street and began talking to and advising them about masturbation, or described anal sex to them. How would you feel? That stranger would be arrested and behind bars so fast it would make their head swim. How is this website any different? The people running the site are strangers to your children, and yet they are giving advice or instruction on anal and gay sex, and mutual masturbation to your children, ages 10 to 16.
As a social worker with 12 years’ experience working with young people ages 10 to 17, I can tell you that if a stranger encouraged any child between the ages of 10 to 16, on sexual activity, including anal sex, gay sex, and mutual masturbation, that individual would be investigated for “grooming.” Grooming refers to actions deliberately undertaken with the aim of befriending and establishing an emotional connection with a child to lower the child’s inhibitions in preparation for sexual activity. I submit that this is precisely what the HHS Website is doing whether intentionally or unintentionally. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_grooming
As parents and grandparents we have a moral obligation to protect our children and the majority of us would lay down our very lives to protect them from any harm. Knowing that our own government is at the same time grooming our children for their own perverse pleasure is vile and repugnant at best and downright evil at worst.
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.”

The truth of the matter is that having sex at such a young age is unnecessary, especially at anything below 16. Even so, sex at an age still below 18 is still not a good idea, seeing that it can result in pregnancy. Not even the condom can 100% protect you from STDs and pregnancy. Parents may not be able to stop their children, but a parent should not be enabling their child to have sex either. Children have their entire life in front of them to have sex. Love at this age should be sweet and romantic. It will be spoiled by immature “adult” thoughts that the child may not be ready for. Before having sex, people must be physically and emotionally mature. That means it’s not a good idea to have sex before late adolescence. Many children in this age group are not informed about contraception, hormones, or pregnancy. Depending on your family, religion, or culture, young or premarital sex may be considered immoral, sinful, or even forbidden. It could cause serious family, legal, or cultural problems for both partners. There are also many that believe sex should be something that is saved for marriage. Some feel it is as basic as saying if they are being referred to as kids, they are too young. In the US, it is illegal to have sex with someone under the age of 13.
Starr studied the influence of mothers because there’s more evidence that daughters model themselves after their mothers, but she believes that fathers may also play an important role in how young girls see themselves. She would also like to look at how fathers and the media influence boys’ understanding of sexualized messages and views toward women. More research is also needed, she said, on the consequences of sexualization on young girls’ health, well-being and identity, and whether young girls who objectify themselves also act out these sexual behaviors.
