Secularists Vs Religion Defines Modern Political Warfare

images-4All religions are targets for extinction, if secularists have their way.  They’ve all been founded long ago and attempted to lay down morals and rules for life that would last forever.  But we’ve seen in the recent struggle in Egypt what happens when the government gets too close to religion, even if they’re elected.

Secularists don’t care about democracy unless, of course, it’s not conveniently going their way.  No sense in waiting for the next election to sort things out; just take to the streets.  Yet isn’t the precedent being set for a religious faction that has just lost an election to do the same, as happened in the Spanish Civil War.

It seems apparent that those who take to the streets–and, unfortunately, threaten violence and social upheaval–are the ones to be reckoned-with and appeased.  The Right has sat docilely by while secularists seize government, courts, media, and the educational systems. Acquiescence and griping go hand-in-hand in getting nowhere.

Christians and Jews in Europe and America shouldn’t be baited into letting secularists pit one major religion against another.  What’s happening to Morsi and his followers in Egypt is happening to Christians elsewhere.  Muslims tend to be conservatives and fundamentalists.

We can imagine a Christian concept of jihad if that means simply (according to the online dictionary) “a war or struggle against unbelievers” or a “the spiritual struggle within oneself against sin.”  Sure, we can can call attention to extreme expressions of Islamic practices which are overboard, but can’t they do the same with our Jim Jones and his People’s Temple?

Liberal American media will support the secular Arabs, but haven’t most countries governed wisely and well under a partnership with a dominant religion?  Aren’t secular governments more to be feared since their moral compass is shallowly derived from statistics and central planning?
