Sioux Falls physician Dr. Annette Bosworth speaks at an informal meet and greet Wednesday at JoDean’s in Yankton.
Come on, Gordon, don’t be coy. You interviewed her, and four days later, you publicly begged Stace Nelson to get in the race on this blog, while following up with no editorial comment about Bosworth, just the damningly empty adjective “interesting.” I understand if you’re trying to be a gentleman (if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all)… although that impulse doesn’t restrain you from criticizing other political figures.
Be straight with us. You looked Bosworth in the eye. You heard her answers. You got to talk about her platform and motivation for running. What’s your assessment of her candidacy and her conservatism?
Me… coy?? As you know, I have encouraged a number of people to get in the race. In fact, Cory… I think you should run too! I am assuming you are a Democrat, although I suppose you could as easily be a Republican in today’s world. I think your candidacy would be, well… interesting.

I’m curious: why did you follow your recording of this video (around July 5, right?) with an endorsement of Stace Nelson for U.S. Senate (July 9)? Was it because you say as clearly as I that Bosworth couldn’t formulate the straightforward answers that South Dakota’s conservatives (and the rest of us) want to hear from a Senate candidate?
I don’t edit the order of the program, and I haven’t made a formal endorsement of any candidate in that race.
