That was the bumper sticker on the window of a car in the church parking lot on Sunday.
I stared in disbelief, even though I know that many people claiming to be Christians support the killing of unborn children.
In my opinion, it stems from a basic ignorance of the truth, both scientific and Biblical.
The science on life is indisputably clear. From the moment of conception, a new, 
distinct and separate life is created. There is no argument about the fact that a new life has been created at conception. It is settled science.
The Bible teaches us to prefer others above ourselves. It also tells us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God. God hates hands that shed innocent blood.
So what does that leave for “Christians” who support abortion, abortion providers like Planned Parenthood and support politicians who promote and support abortion?
In short, it leaves them with a shallow relationship (if any relationship at all) with Christ. It leaves them with the position of defending a woman’s “right to choose”, that is to say, a woman’s choice to take the life of her own unborn child.
There is no way to ignore the pain and suffering of women who are in a crisis pregnancy. Isn’t it time, though, that the church… the WHOLE church… the body of Christ came to grips with the issue of abortion. Isn’t it time we stood together on TRUTH? Let’s pray that believers would begin to reach out in a larger way to hurting women, to help them through a pregnancy that is difficult. Let’s pray that believers would unite to educate the body of Christ on the TRUTH about abortion. It isn’t that difficult to understand.
Let’s pray that new bumper stickers would appear in the church parking lot. Bumper stickers that say ” I stand with TRUTH”.
