What would America look like if we just called it what it is?
-
an offense against religious or moral law
-
transgression of the law of God
-
a vitiated state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God
If we would call it what it is, perhaps people would be spared the delusion that sin should be socially acceptable. That would set the stage for personal conviction and repentance. (If we confess our sins, He is faithful
and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:9)
We have, instead, become a nation that calls good evil and evil good.
The only hope for America is to get honest. Homosexuality is a sin. It’s not the only one. Greed, lying, gossip, hatred, stealing, murder are a few of the many others. Anything that is contrary to the will and purpose of God is sin. We are all guilty. Our only hope is to admit our sins and turn from our wicked ways. God will forgive and bless us individually and as a nation.
Politicians, Pastors and people in general have become fearful of openly calling sin what it is. We choose to justify and condone sin, rather than seeing it as an abomination and a separation from God. With love in our hearts for the sinner, we can help turn our nation by rejecting sin in every form.
Then, God can heal our land.
