Biden is the strongest candidate the Democrats have.
National polling shows him beating every Republican, while Clinton loses to every Republican.
As I suggested months ago, I believe Biden will get in the race. That is bad news for Republicans. It is even worse news if they are foolish enough to nominate a moderate. The only way Republicans can take the White House is if they are bold enough to nominate a conservative. Even then, their chances are much better if Biden stays out.
There is no question that Biden is one of the most liberal Democrats on the planet, but he has the ability to appeal to enough left-leaning Republicans to win if the conservative base is not energized. The Democrat nomination is Biden’s for the asking. All he needs to do is get in, and it looks like he will do just that.
There is still plenty of time for a conservative to gain traction and become the Republican nominee, but the clock is ticking. Anything less than a conservative seals the deal for the Democrats.
Biden would be the most formidable opponent.
