“I just don’t like that guy.”
That is what former President George W. Bush had to say about Senator Ted Cruz.
Why would the President openly express dislike for Cruz? Maybe because his brother is running for President, and Cruz is winning support that “should belong to Jeb”. Or maybe it is because Cruz has “hijacked” the Republican party in Texas and DC… that means Cruz has not been willing to compromise constitutional and conservative principles.
Let’s remember that this is the same George W. who presided over significant increases in government spending and has had little, if anything, negative to say about the Democrat (Obama) who would seem to be a more likely target for criticism than conservative Republican Ted Cruz.
Oh, yes… let’s also remember that this is the same George W. who said of Vladimir Putin, “I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy.”
It would be fair to suggest that the former President might have some shortcomings in judging character.
