Black lives matter, Red lives matter, White lives matter…

The racial tension continues to grow as some people fan the flames.  A few people who are still hurting over a recent incident in Rapid City refer to the city as “Racist City”.  Not exactly a healing metaphor.  There is a better way to eliminate racism and prejudice.

You will find it at Faith Temple Church in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Faith Temple is a multi-cultural congregation.  Probably the most diverse in the entire Midwest.  What makes it particularly unique is the acceptance and love of people irrespective of their skin color or culture.  Different cultures and people are CELEBRATED at Faith Temple.

Most recently the church celebrated All Nations Day.  The First Lady of the church, Twana Carr (my God daughter) organized the celebration.  It was a marvelous production of praise that featured dance and music representative of many cultures and nations, followed by a food sampling from many different cultures.  It may have ben the most incredible church service I  have ever attended.  You can view it online HERE, although nothing is quite the same as personally experiencing it.  You may notice the empty seats.  It is because a large part of the congregation was involved in the production of music and dance.

Love is the real solution.  1John 4 (NIV) identifies it clearly: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love”

I am particularly blessed to be a part of this congregation.  You might want to join us for a service some Sunday.

It’s refreshing to see a focus on the SOLUTION rather than the problem.
