District 34 voters have an opportunity to elect a fiscally conservative Republican if they vote for Janette McIntyre.
McIntyre, known for her tenacity, hard work and dedication to strict conservative principals entered the race for the open seat vacated by Senator Craig Tieszen.
Rather than running for his House Seat, Representative Partridge made the good old boy swap with Senator Tieszen so both would have a seat in the Legislature.
Janette upset the applecart with her entrance to the race. And now the race is on.
When asked why she entered the race McIntyre said, “they have all voted for the two largest tax increases in South Dakota history!” It’s true. Dryden and Partridge in the House and Tieszen in the Senate voted yet again this year to increase everyone’s sales tax.
“It is one thing to call yourself a conservative and walk the walk,” said McIntyre. In the case of the sales tax increase McIntyre agrees that teachers, and for that matter a lot of professions even with in the school system – nurses, custodians etc. in South Dakota schools, could use a raise. “The issue with the school systems is that they need to look for efficiencies not continually look to the taxpayers for more and more money.”
Governor Daugaard says South Dakota is in dire straights to hire teachers and yet the HB1182 bill claims that South Dakota has 400 too many teachers! “What gives?” asks McIntyre.
Yes, she is definitely known for her tenacity and will call into question the votes raising your taxes of her opponent Jeff Partridge.
“Talk is cheap but votes matter,” said McIntyre.
