What are you doing this Sunday?
Exodus 20:8-11King James Version (KJV)
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
Please spare me the argument that Sunday isn’t really the Sabbath. The point, in my opinion, is that God has created the design, and given us some basic instructions. We would be well served to pay attention to them.
Sunday used to be a special day. Stores would close, liquor wasn’t sold, Realtors didn’t hold open houses. It was a day of rest. People went to church. It wasn’t just another day.
There are still plenty of churches where the Gospel is preached, people are loved and the power of the Holy Ghost is free move. You should find one, and go there.
Make Sunday special again.
