The Western Journal Encourages Op-Eds from Conservative Activists

Trustworthy conservative activists share two things: they read and write daily.  We discover what we really know, however, only when we write it down.  Beyond blog sites like this one, finding opportunities to publish aren’t easy to discover.   This is why The Western Journal, with “more than 44 million total monthly page views,” encourages Op-Ed submissions from conservative thinkers.

“The Western Journal publishes select Op-Eds submitted by our readers. If you would like to submit an Op-Ed, fill out a submission form here: https://www.westernjournal.com/writeforus.”  In fact, “Our editors would love the opportunity to consider publishing your work in our ‘Opinion’ section. Our submission process requires a short biography, a brief explanation of your expertise, and basic contact information.”

The above submission form clearly suggests what topics are most needed by conservative readers to become politically savvy:  “Currently, we are especially seeking submissions on the topics of the upcoming 2018 midterm elections, online censorsship of conservatives, and what is commonly referred to as ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ on the left (and, to some degree, in the center and some parts of the right). We are a conservative publication, but there is plenty of room for difference of opinion among conservatives, so we do not necessarily have to agree with your opinion to publish it; we do, however, in most cases have to agree that a good number of right-of-center Americans would agree with it.”

Already published articles give the most direct examples about what is expected, including formatting.  “There Is No Virtue in Black People Voting Unquestionably for One Party” is as good an article as any to start with.

As it says, “Most importantly, write with your own voice and be original. An Op-Ed stating that you agree or disagree with a given politician or policy will hold little interest for readers unless you explain why — and offer something new for them to think about that hasn’t occurred to them before. Give readers a logical, winsome argument to help them defend conservative ideals or refute liberal thinking, and you’re likely to build a following on The Western Journal’s opinion page.”
