If you are a member of the spelling police, you noticed the “t” is missing.
You could also call it a cross. That is what’s really missing.
The move to take Christ out of Christmas continues to grow. This year candy canes were banned from a school in Nebraska because they are in the shape of a “J”, which represents Jesus. Further, the red in the candy cane represents the blood of Christ. The white represents His resurrection.
It’s too bad the school official didn’t realize that jihad also begins with “j”. That would probably have been acceptable, so the kids could have their candy canes.
It is interesting to me that people want to celebrate Christmas, but want to remove Christ. He is the very reason we celebrate Christmas to begin with. The battle against Christmas by non-believers is rooted in their “non-belief”. Isn’t it strange that so much effort would be invested to remove the Ten Commandments, prayer, Nativity scenes, crosses, Christmas carols and candy canes, because of the assertion that there isn’t a real Jesus? If someone or something doesn’t exist, why would so much energy be invested to fight against it? Pretending Jesus isn’t real doesn’t change the fact that He is.
Yes Virginia, there is a Jesus. He died (for our sins) and rose from the dead. He is alive. He is at the right hand of God, making intercession for believers. He sent the Holy Spirit to live in believers, to guide and empower them.
This Christmas, I celebrate Jesus. I am thankful that I have a personal relationship with Him.
Merry Christmas!
