SENATOR THUNE, PLEASE COME HOME

There are now less than 39 days until Election Day. The White House is occupied by a president who is determined to advance his socialist agenda at any cost. His party’s leadership in in the House of Representatives is complicit in this betrayal of our Republic.

The Democratic House leadership is dominated by the radical Speaker Nancy Pelosi from arguably the most liberal district in the nation. The lone Congressional representation from South Dakota is Democrat Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin. Mrs. Sandlin’s record, despite her claims to the contrary, is one which closely aligns with Speaker Pelosi. She, in fact, has voted with the Speaker’s radical liberal agenda over 90% of the time. She even voted to elect Mrs. Pelosi as Speaker!!! Mrs. Sandlin’s TV ads, tout that she has voted more conservatively than 53% of the House. But 53% is a failing grade, an F.  According to a Rasmussen poll on Friday, 61% of likely voters favor the repeal of  the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Healthcare Law. Mrs. Sandlin has publically stated that she is opposed to the repeal of Obamacare. It’s not magic, Mrs. Sandlin, it’s a fact that you are a Pelosi follower and enabler. This is the truth, and it is undisputed.

We are truly blessed this year that the Republican candidate for Congress, Kristi Noem, is a gifted, intelligent, articulate and committed conservative. She was born and resides in South Dakota. She and her husband, Bryon are raising their family here in South Dakota. She is not a lawyer or married to a lobbyist. Kristi is a successful businesswoman having hands-on experience and responsibility with the operation of several businesses, including a hunting camp, restaurant and her farm and ranch in Hamlin County. She also is no stranger or novice in the legislative world having served in the South Dakota Assembly as Assistant Majority Leader.

Despite these considerable credentials and her personable demeanor, the race for South Dakota’s lone Congressional seat is too close to call. The Democratic Party’s money train is rolling into South Dakota with$500,000.00 for Mrs. Sandlin to spend on ads that will likely spread lies, distortions, half-truths and disinformation just hours before Election Day.

I was an early supporter of Kristi Noem’s prior to the primaryelection because I had researched her legislative record and interviewed her and found her to be “the real deal.”  Her successful primary election campaign was a testament to her excellent work ethic and communication skills. Her character, positive message, conservative values, goodness of heart and determination should be enough to win.

But, I have been thinking of what could be done to help Kristi’s campaign as we come into the final month. One answer is Senator John Thune.  South Dakota’s Senator John Thune has served our state well. His South Dakota conservative values have gained him much widespread support and the admiration of the people of our state. So much so, that he is running unopposed for re-election. He is enormously popular in his home state and increasingly across the nation. He recently told The Weekly Standard that he was even considering a 2012 presidential candidacy.

Now I realize that Senator Thune has been supportive of Kristi Noem’s campaign already but now is the time for our Conservative Senator to come home and campaign vigorously around the state in Kristi’s behalf. Senator Thune, it is of the utmost importance to restore a South Dakota voice in the House this year and you can make the difference. Come home Senator Thune and help Kristi retire Mrs. Sandlin and fire her boss Nancy Pelosi.
