    I am so amazed

God so loved the world he gave His ONLY Son – What in the world does that say – thats alot of LOVE. Is it to much? God alone knows.

And Ed, Grace is not Black and White. I think Independent knows that also.

Look at the world today. Every where you look there is fighting. If you look closer you will see that 95%+ of all the battles going on are the result of Islam. Don”t even bother to try to deny it. The Muslims are a restless evil. How many Jihads have been declared in the last 20 years? Even if all the Jews, Christiana and all other religions were removed from the planet, the Muslims would continue to fight against themselves as they do now already…Sunnies, Shiites, etc., it’s evil plain and simple.

    Howie,
It’s just reality. If someone has “too much love for God,” and it this “love” manifests itself in a harmful way, as in the case of shooting another man, or practicing religious extremism, then it should be obvious to all it is destructive.

There is no such thing as too much love for God. The God that sent His Son to die for us deserves and demands our love. A man that takes anothers life is acting from his sinful nature and has sinned against God. Independent please don’t insult my intelligence with such lame arguments.

        Ed,

Sorry Ed, but it’s a fact. Too much of anything can be harmful, even reigion, which you try to disguise as ” Love for God.” “Men never do evil as cheerfully and completely as when it’s done out of religious conviction.”

Religious extremism of any denomination has caused more evil throughout history than any other cause. It’s a cop out to say ” When a Christian does something evil he’s not a Christian anymore.” And it works both ways. Islam is a peaceful religion. The extremists who become terrorists aren’t Muslims. You can’t have it both ways gentlemen.

God’s love is infinite and you can never have too much. Once again you twist words to turn the issue because your position is indefensible. I didn’t say “When a Christian does something evil, he is not a Christian anymore.,” you did. Stop projecting your fallacious logic. Pray instead for the grace of God.

            Ed,
Does God love Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Taoists, and other non-Christians? For the sake of discussion, let’s say the folks I mentioned are kind, graceful and spiritual people doing their best to help others and make the world a better place to live.

Wow! “too much love af God c an be a bad thing”……..??? That explains a lot about your perspective. I think I would want cover too if I were you!

    Gordon,
That’s exactly what devout Jews say about their religion, or devout Muslims say about theirs, and so on and so forth. If practiced correctly most of the world’s religions are a threat to imperfect behavior and the mistreatment of men.

For starters, the participants in the Crusades were radical Christians. Reverend Phelps and his lot are radical Christians. The murderous individual who shot Dr. Geoge Tiller in a Kansas chruch in front of his family is a radical Christian. The Christians in Salem Mass. who murdered “witches” were radical Christians. But alas, here comes your pat “they weren’t or aren’t true Christians” comment. And yes, my definition is likely different from yours. And no, you’rs isn’t more correct or right than mine. You can’t judge that, only God can, and He’s as available for me as He is to you. The Tanakh is the true word of God, according to my faith.

And yes, too much “love of God” can be a bad thing, when it manifests itself in bad ways.

Radical Christianity is a threat….?? hmmmmm what is your definition of radical christianity?? would that be excessive love of God and fellow man??? what a threat!!!
What you probably call radical Christianity is likely not Christian at all. True Christianity is only a threat to sin

Radical Islam is a threat. So is radical Christianity. So is radical Judaism, or any extreme religious conviction for that matter.

For the record, the majority of the information in your link is propaganda and hyperbole.

The denial of the threat of Islam or indeed of any evil is not advisable. If opposition of evil is radical, then so be it. “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth.” Rev 3:16 NKJV

To deny that any radical religious practices are a threat is foolish. Extremism, be it Islamic, Jewish, or Christian is dangerous.

Extreme love of Jesus Christ can NEVER be dangerous.

Yes, extreme love of Jesus, or Allah or God or Yahweh can be harmful. Any religious extremism is harmful. It closes our eyes and cause us to hate those who do not practice the same faith we do.

It may cause you to hate others. I do not hate others. I hate sin and evil.

WOW! This is really an eye opener.

Go ahead tell me the bible isn’t true – this shows signs of the word God all the way through it. I beleive we who are christians need to be aware of the threat of Islam and the poisons that are being created by it. Islam has learned to use our laws against us and call it constitutionally right. Well this may be true to a point – But the morals of this country are being destroyed by the present of this religion and it’s contempt for America.

I agree with a statement you said awhile back – It would be nice to return to the way it was in the 50’s. Atleast we new where a person stood. Now every where we step that path has been poisoned by some other belief other than the teaching of Christ Jesus – we all know where he stands and that is the reason why Islam are afraid.

We as christians need to stand and say “Hey we aren’t going to take it anymore”. Take a look at the video people it’s in our face and very, very real.

The Jews hold the key to the earth. They will always be God’s chosen people. God has never spoken directly to anyone else. perhaps that’s why there are radical extremist Christians and radical extremist Muslims, but no radical extremist Jews.

What color is the sky in your world?

          October 14, 2010 at 8:58 pm

The sky is many colors Ed. Sometimes it’s blue, or black or orange or crimson. Sometimes there are rainbows in the sky, with all the colors of the spectrum visible at once. I fear the sky in your world is black and white.
