Sweltering 100-degree heat did not deter the thousands who attended the Hills Alive Free Summer Music Festival in Rapid City, SD this weekend.
Thanks to the corporate sponsors, legions of volunteers, vendor participation and the generosity of the faithful attendees this event is offered free of admission.
Under the bright sunshine and clear South Dakota blue skies Christian music and testimony were appreciated by the throng on lawn chairs and blankets.
They came to hear 14 Christian bands such as Third Day, Kutless, Disciple, Stellar Kart, Emery and many others and also to enjoy the Christian fellowship of their neighbors and visitors.
If you think that Christian music is a bunch of hymns sung by choirs, think again. This is contemporary, cutting-edge music with God-centered lyrics performed by young and talented artists.
It was heartening and uplifting to see young and old and all ages in-between gathered in Christian fellowship.
Strolling through the Festival I snapped a few photos of the crowd and my favorite display by The Family Heritage Alliance and BigHorn Canyon Ministries of Rapid City.
Thanks to all that made this happen again here in Rapid City. God Bless you all!!!
