Republican members of the Super Committee have already started a Super Committee problem.
At an all-day Tuesday meeting of the Republican Super Committee members the topic was how to effectively collaborate with the Democrats on the panel, according to a statement released by Cochairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX).
It appears that the RINO Republican leadership in Congress has succeeded in seducing a great number of the tea party supported members, including Congressman Hensarling, to cross over to the dark side of compromise above principle.
The establishment of the quite possibly unconstitutional Super Committee by the enactment of the Budget Control Act of 2011 was one of the most egregious problems born in that ill-fated “compromise.” Its very existence is the problem as it was designed to perpetuate the fallacious assumption that compromise will produce a solution to the problem of unrestrained spending and astronomically growing deficits.
Day long, behind closed doors meetings should be held to encourage each of the Republican members to stand firm on their mandate to stop government growth and spending not to encourage capitulation and surrender to the regime’s insatiable desire to spend our way out of debt.
The Republican establishment leaders will be making a major, likely fatal, mistake if they pursue a path of compromise that will enable further deterioration of the economy. A deal is not necessary if it is just a deal and not a solution to the spending crisis.
Deals concocted to permit their passage through the next election cycle will be recognized as such, and the wrath of the conservative activists and Tea Party will be felt in November 2012.
