Things are changing in our world.
Even in South Dakota.
Should we be alarmed? Concerned?
Recently, there were reports of Muslim prayer in the Sioux Falls airport. Now, reports that the Muslim Community Center of South Dakota is looking for a larger facility than their current one.
South Dakotans are generally peace-loving, tolerant people. Most South Dakotans reject bigotry and hatred. Does that mean we should welcome the Muslim religion in our state?
Personally, I would like to hear from these South Dakota Muslims. I would invite them to publically renounce the portions of the Koran that tolerate and encourage mutilation, oppression and murder of women. I would invite them to publically reject the killing and oppression of Christians. I would invite them to publically reject terrorism of every kind. I would invite them to publically denounce any act of violence endorsed, supported or committed by their prophet Muhammad.
Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a religion of death and destruction. Islam is dedicated to the elimination of Israel… and America. I will wait for these public statements before I embrace Islam in South Dakota, or the Muslims who practice it.
In the meantime, wake up South Dakota, Islam is here.

I agree with you 100%. I want to see the “peace loving” Muslim’s public rejection of terrorism. Where is their outrage over the wrongs committed by their religion?? They are taught to lie to further their cause, so how can any be trusted??? Sharia Law is not compatible with the “Law of our Land,” so they cannot be allowed to use our freedom of religion laws against us. Our leaders need to be wise in this.
I know little of the Islam religion, but I do know about God and my Lutheran religion. I am bothered by your attitude of automatically summing up that because Islam religion has grown in Sioux Falls that all of the Islam people think like terrorists. I grew up about 20 miles from two SD reservations, I grew up with prejudice people all around, except for my family. I saw it everywhere in the treatment of Indians compare to white, when a black person came to town it was time to lock the doors! I myself do not see these people as a threat I see them as an opportunity to show them what SD can be made of, kindness, warmth, openness of mind (altho this is hard to come by) Christian upbringings, most of all a desire to understand something or someone that is not the same, try to hold out on your prejudice, until you have heard the whole story or seen the whole picture. In the mean time treat these people with the respect you would want and you may be surprised that there is a willingness to smile and be kind to one another.
Thanks for the comments Kay. I think comparing this issue to prejudicial treatment of those you mention misses the point I am making. Racism should be rejected at every level. What we are talking about here, though is not the same. Islam specifically calls for the extermination (killing) of all who will not convert, and the inhumane treatment of women. It is a DOCTRINAL issue, a theology of death. It is the destruction of Israel and America we are talking about. If Christians embraced these doctrines I would take the same position. I am not ready to embrace any person, culture or doctrine that is based on violence, death and hatred. Anyone not willing to openly condemn and reject these principles is suspect, in my view, regardless of race or color.
Amen….also I would like them to admit they adhere to the Hadithe…which indeed, instructs them in rejecting all beliefs EXCEPT Islam including all of its violence with Jihad…
