Two formal complaints have been filed against the Rounds for Senate campaign.
The complaints are very straightforward, and represent serious allegations that include Senator Mike Rounds and Attorney General Marty Jackly.
One complaint is under the consideration of the Federal Election Commission, the other with the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice.
The complaints outline and allege voter intimidation and voter suppression.
We have good reason to believe the FBI will conduct an inquiry into these charges.
Here are the two complaints, as filed:
You can expect the “defenders of the Republican guard” to immediately dismiss these complaints and malign those who suggest the complaints have merit. You can also expect those who support these complaints to defend the allegations. Both sides should wait and allow the process to follow its course before rushing to judgment. The DOJ and the FBI are perfectly capable of vetting these charges.
Further, we have every reason to believe the DOJ and the FBI are in the process of doing just that.
