“This is Report #2: We Believe Brady Died From An Immune Reaction Caused By Minocycline, An Antibiotic, And Not From Any Virus.
Here’s Why:

Minocycline was prescribed for Brady at the Star Academy juvenile detention center in Custer, SD, eleven days before he died on 21 December 2013.

Brady was known to be allergic to doxycycline, and therefore should have never been prescribed minocycline, a similar tetracycline-type drug.

The Mayo Clinic warns patients about minocycline:
Contact your doctor immediately if fever, rash, joint pain, or tiredness occurs. These could be symptoms of an autoimmune syndrome where the body attacks itself…This medicine may cause serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis requires immediate medical attention.

Brady’s diary showed he suffered unusual tiredness four days before his death. Despite this and other symptoms he received a twice-daily dose of minocycline up to the very day he died.

No one at the Star Academy ever contacted Brady’s mother before giving Brady, a minor, a drug with strong FDA warnings and a potential for severe complications.

Brady’s mother would have warned the Academy of his allergy to doxycycline.

Brady Folkens received his medical care from the Brookings Clinic in Brookings, SD, yet the Star Academy was never in contact with, and never shared any medical records with the Brookings Clinic.

Brady Folkens’ autopsy findings are totally consistent with death from a fatal reaction to minocycline.
We believe that Brady Folkens would not have died on 21 December 2013 if the Star Academy had treated him with safe and diligent medical care.”
This case demands a transparent investigation, not a cover-up.
