Yesterday a Republican Party official told me they think I have “declared war” on the Republican Party.
I’m not surprised that is what they THINK, but I was a bit surprised to hear one of them SAY it!
The Liberty Lunch yesterday is strong evidence to anyone watching that there is, indeed a struggle going on… but not against the Party. It is a statewide effort by many people and groups to hold Republicans accountable to their own party platform. The Liberty Lunch yesterday was the second of what will be a monthly gathering (3rd Wed each month) of conservatives who strongly support the Republican party platform… and intend to hold accountable those who do not choose to follow it.
The meeting was fast-paced, upbeat, pro-life, God and Country (in that order). and well attended. The next Liberty Lunch will be held at the Ramkota hotel in Rapid City on Wed., September 19th from 11:30 – 1:00. Those who attended enjoyed a great buffet lunch at a reasonable price, a call-in conversation with NancyPelosi, reports from Tea Party groups, an update from the Vice-Chair of the Pennington County Republican party, presentation of a Patriot Pastor award to Father Janus Korban and hear Dr Pat Castle, Founder of Life Runners and Squadron Commander at Ellsworth Air Force Base.
Several State Legislators were present, and Representative Lance Russel shared some thoughts on important issues.
Most of those present also signed the petition to STOP ObamaCare in South Dakota, which tells Governor Daugaard to SEND BACK the $7 million ObamaCare dollars he took and stop his implementation of government run health care in South Dakota. (You can sign the petition on line.. Click HERE)
War on the Republican Party? Hardly! A better description may be to suggest that the conscience of the Party is now alive and well!
