We hear the incessant drum beat from the liberals that the rich need to pay their “fair share” to support the needy, the hungry, the homeless, et. al. But liberals don’t pay their “fair share.”
Liberals prefer to talk-the-talk but not walk-the-walk when we examine their charitable giving history. Liberals talk a great deal about caring and providing for the poor and disadvantaged but don’t donate their time or money to organizations that really do help the poor and needy. After all in their utopian socialist perspective, the government is supposed to take care of all of us, so giving money away to some charitable organization is not considered. When confronted with evidence that government programs only impoverish those they claim to help, the liberals’ only answer is that the government needs more money.
Conservatives give away far more of their income to charities than liberals do. The Boston Globe published an article recently exposing the facts:
”[T]he General Social Survey asked a large sample of Americans whether “the government has a responsibility to reduce income inequality” — a key ideological litmus test. Thirty-three percent of respondents agreed; 43 percent disagreed. The two groups differed sharply in more than their politics. The conservatives — those who opposed government programs to reduce inequality — were significantly more likely to donate money to charity than the liberals. And among those who did donate, conservatives gave away, on average, four times as much money per year.”
The lesson here is quite clear. Liberals are not compassionate at all. They don’t want to contribute their money. They want to spend YOUR money. The bonus is that they can use YOUR money to create and enlarge the number of those dependent upon their “compassion.” And so the cycle of dependency grows while they demonize the successful and subjugate, repress and control the already needy and swell the ranks of the needy with their deceitful elitist programs.
