Conservatives… and not-so conservatives evaluate Governor Daugaard’s performance on conservative issues.

The performance review was sent to tens of thousands of South Dakota voters. It was created from a conservative perspective, giving voters the option to rate the governor on twenty issues, then enter their own total score to evaluate the governor’s performance on these issues.

A score of 100% would reflect support for conservative values on all of these twenty issues.

After all the votes were counted, the Governor scored less than 20% in support of conservative positions (13.6% to be exact).

75% gave the governor a score of ZERO!

Does that mean Governor Daugaard has abandoned all conservative principles? Not necessarily, but it is an alarming indication that on MANY significant issues, the governor supports positions that are contrary to sound conservative policy.

Conservatives serious about responsible, limited government should be aware of the Governor’s positions on these important issues.

South Dakota needs strong CONSERVATIVE leadership in these difficult times. Our leaders must be held accountable for their votes actions in office. An INFORMED electorate can hold them accountable.

If we close our eyes and ears, believing all Republicans are “conservative”, we will continue to get what we have gotten… leaders who have abandoned the party platform for left-leaning policies.
