That’s not good news for the Rounds campaign, but no surprise to conservatives in South Dakota.
The former Governor has been making the “rounds”, looking for endorsements in his effort to become the next US Senator from South Dakota. The most notable thus far is from longtime associate Dennis Daugaard. Other less-than-solid conservatives have also jumped on the bandwagon for Rounds, but this rejection by the Senate Conservative Fund sends a loud signal to Republicans in South Dakota:
Mike Rounds is not a conservative. Period.
This rejection is not unfounded. The conservative fund lists many deficiencies in the Rounds performance record:
-
Expanded state bureaucracy by 1,500 employees
-
Supported higher cigarette, alcohol, and telephone taxes
-
Supported higher Internet taxes
-
Supported Medicare Part D prescription drug entitlement
-
Supported the TARP bailout program for Wall Street banks
-
Supported Obama’s “stimulus” spending
-
Supported the fiscal cliff deal, raising taxes on 80% of Americans
-
Refuses to rule out raising federal taxes in the future
There’s more….
When Governor Rounds was in office, he worked to KILL efforts and legislation that would have repealed ObamaCare.
This brand of “Republicanism” will NOT help move America in the right direction.

You can help spread this conservative Christian message
You can add to your list of reasons. While he was still serving as our Governor, he accepted appointment from Obama to become one of the first ten Federal Regional Governors of the US. That about said it all for me.
Spot on Gordon! Rounds and Daugaard war on conservatives all the while pretending to be one in order to fool the voters into voting for them!
Thank you for outing him!
