All Americans who serve in the military are heroes.

But not all heroes are in uniform.

9-11 is a day everyone pauses to remember the terrorist attack on our country. It is a “date that will live in infamy”, to borrow a phrase from President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

We should not forget the heroes of that day. There were many. Emergency responders from every quarter gave without thought for their own lives.

The words ringing in my ears today are the final words of Todd Beamer, “Are you guys ready? Okay, let’s roll”!

Today, we pray for the families of those fallen heroes and victims.

Thank God for the heroes in and out of uniform who will always be ready to say, “Let’s roll”!
