$ 4 Billion additional tax dollars is not the right solution.

Whether you call it an immigration crisis or a refugee crisis, just throwing more money will not fix it.

It is a typical “government solution”, but spending nearly $70,000 for each illegal immigrant is the wrong way to go.  Refusing to let churches lend a hand in helping these people is also a bad idea.

So what is the RIGHT thing to do?

FIRST, secure the border.  It’s not that difficult.  Our borders must be secure if we are to survive as a nation.  If we destroy our country (or let others do it by flooding across our borders) we won’t be able to help anyone.

Then we can begin to discuss what to do with those who are here illegally.

Our immigration system has worked well for decades.  There is always room for improvement, but perhaps we need to begin by enforcing the immigration laws and policies already on the books.
