LAME DUCKS REPEAL DADT

“Remember that those who voted “Yea” today helped weaken the greatest military force in the world.”

The intensive studies and interviews with our troops has proved this statement is without merit. It is merely a hollow opinion, completely devoid of any facts or rational thought process.

Let’s thank our leaders for having the courage and conviction to finally do the right thing.

Your “intensive studies” were not so intensive and have been discredited as biased and flawed in their wording which brought about the desired agenda of the writers. This was done to fuel your argument. Let us NOT thank those that voted YEA but pray for them as they have advanced the cause of homosexuality in our society, an abomination in the eyes of God. You may go and rejoice in this victory if you wish, I dare not as I prefer to prepare to give account to Almighty God as He will judge me for my words and actions. I refer you to 1 Corinthians 6:9.

The majority of American citizens, and now even about half of the GOP favor gays serving openly in our military. Quoting scripture is meaningless in this case. As you are well aware, Jesus never said a word about homosexuality.

Remember the Last Supper. Jesus clearly stated He was here to forgive all sin. You might want to follow His teachings, since you are a Christian.

I think you’re speaking with sour grapes in your mouth, and fear in your heart.

Oh, it’s Inde’s pronouncement parade again. Just because you say that the majority agrees with you then we mere mortals must accept your word? Not hardly. NEWS FLASH: You are not God!!! Case in point: “quoting scripture is meaningless in this case.” Listen to yourself sometime would you? Quoting Scripture is NEVER MEANINGLESS. Ponder the word NEVER there….it means NEVER!!! Another case in point: “Jesus never said a word about homosexuality.” Did I not just quote Scripture regarding homosexuality? Holy Scripture is the Word of God, Jesus is God. End discussion. Do not trouble yourself with the fear in my heart……it is the fear of evil. Oh, and you might want to rethink your opinion that the majority is always right. The majority in this country favored slavery at one time. Was that right?

I completely disagree with your statement about quoting scripture, and I can prove it. Would quoting Islamic scripture at a Christian burial service be meaningless? How about quoting Christian scripture at a Bar Mitzvah? Right off the top of my head I’ve provided two instances where quoting scripture would be meaningless.

And I don’t buy your explanation regarding the fact Jesus never spoke about homosexuality. He didn’t, end of story. You can try to spin things and claim the Tanakh is the word of Jesus, but it’s not. That’s obviously your opinion, because Jews do not regard thier holy book to be associated with Jesus in any way shape or form, and it’s their book. Besides, the Trinity is a Catholic doctrine, and the Catholic church doesn’t even recognize your church as Christian.

I challenge you to produce even one quote from Jesus addressing homosexuality. You can’t because one doesn’t exist.

Your instances are inane. It would also be meaningless to quote any inappropriate other literature in these instances. You obviously have a simplistic and only limited understanding of Christian churches. The Bible is the word of God. Whether or not Jesus spoke directly on a subject or through His writers, the message is the word of God. The Trinity is not just a doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church, study my friend.

I think you are the one who needs to study. for starters, study the life of the Roman Emperor Constantine, specifically what he did to create the religion you now claim is “the word of God.” The Edict of Milan and the Roman Empire’s military might created the New Testament. Read about how your religion came to be, or does your faith begin and end with the New Testament?
I find it fascinating Christains have adopted the “Old Testament,” and use only what serves them.

The Holy Bible is the Word of God, not a religion. You may not believe that but I do. I find it quite revealing that you are quick to criticize and try to discredit other religions or Christians in general. I’ll try to get through just one more time: THE NEW TESTAMENT IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE OLD TESTAMENT. Together the Old and New Testament comprise the Holy Bible, the inspired Word of God.

You’re completely ignoring biblical history in favor of your mythology. Your “Bible” was created by men when Constantine and his advisors edited thousands of pages of early Christian scripture, discarded most of it, outlawed the reading or possession of any they didn’t choose and labeled it as heresy. Then the early Roman Christians proceeded to kill anyone who dared to stay with their original Christian faith. Some early Christian scriptures survived, like the Dead Sea Scrolls and Gnostic Gospels, and there is absolutley no proof the New Testament is anymore the “word of God” than they are, only the opinions of man.

The New Testamennt is patently rejected by Jews, and it is pure mythology it is the fulfillment of anything other than itself. It is wishful thinking at best.

At any rate, Christian gays (and others) will now be serving openly in our military, some say it is God’s will.

Thanks for the historical interpretation. Sadly, you are correct in saying that the Jews have rejected Jesus Christ, as you have. I don’t advise you to mock Jesus Christ or His followers, or His church. Your criticism of Christians is not necessary to advance your agenda. I don’t hide behind “some say,” I say that I will pray that this sanctioning and acceptance of homosexuality will pass in the military and in the world.

It’s a pretty accurate summary of historical fact actually. The overwhelming majority of scholars in the field agree that’s how the Christian Bible (New Testament) came to be. On the other hand, the Tanakh was passed orally for centuries by early Jewish holy men, and Jewish households. It transcends time, and has remained alligned with the ancient word.

I have no issue with Christians who worship in private, as Jesus instructed them. Remember He admonished the Priests and others in His day for worshipping on the street, while drawing attention to themelves. That’s a concept fundamentalists seem to have either forgotten or chose to ignore. That’s where I take exception, with the intolerance demonstrated by those who believe they know the one true way to God, and believe that other faiths are simply wrong. All too often the people who believe they are saved and all others foresaken preach this in public, and flaunt their faith. It is a decidedly unholy endeavor.

Consider Luke 12-8 NKJV “Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God.” Who is being intolerant when you say that “other faiths are simply wrong?”

Circular reasoning isn’t a valid method to attempt to validate anything. You accomplish nothing when you say “My Bible is the one true word of God,” then attempt to “prove” it or support your claim by quoting from your bible.

Here’s an update: Open service in the military is now the law of the land. It’s time for you guys to move on to something else. Maybe you should go back to abortion…..

Maybe you could pass the physical and you should openly join.

I was a civil servant for 25 years, and I never once let my personal religious beliefs interfere with or become entwined with my duties. It would have been so much easier to follow the path of the fundamentalist, and let someone else make decision for me, and tellme what to do, but I have far to much character to ever allow that to happen.

Far easier to let go and let God guide you for His character is perfect and flawless.
