A friend of mine shared this very personal story about her experience with “date rape”.
It doesn’t always happen on a “date”. It happens when a sexual predator sees a vulnerable woman or girl.
Your personal awareness of how easily this can happen might just prevent some woman a lifetime of pain.

I am going to share some thoughts on this. Please tell your daughters and their friends that they need to pay attention when they are out “having a good time.” I was out with some friends when in was in my late 20’s. We were at Boot Hill and I hadn’t been there for more than 15 minutes. I had only had a couple of sips out of a beer. I went to dance leaving my friends at the table. A guy from high school had joined us who was back in town. When I came back to the table and ha…d a drink of my beer, I said yuck this lid has some powdery stuff on it. Unfortunately I had already swallowed. Within MINUTES, I was unable to function. Needless to say this guy offered to “help” me and get me home. I wish my friends would have realized there was no way I should have been incapacitated. I wish the “bouncers” would have been trained to watch for things like this. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the ride home or how I got in my house, but I DO REMEMBER waking up with this man who had clearly drugged me. I hate him to this day and I am sure I wasn’t the only one he did this to. Don’t think for a minute that it can’t happen to you or in a small town like Rapid City. I hope this opens up a conversation between you and your family and God watches over these women who go through such a horrible thing. I listen to the girls who are accusing Cosby and I totally believe them. Creeps who do this should rot in hell.
My thoughts also are ANYONE who see someone come in and within 15 minutes are being “helped out”, this should be a red flag. All of us need to watch out for creeps like this. Anyone who can learn from this and doesn’t become a victim will be saved the humiliation and the life long heart ache this causes. The “what-ifs” never go away either.
