President Obama is saving Americans millions with lower gas prices.
At least that is what he would like you to believe.
He is saying, quote “we’re saving drivers about 70 cents a gallon at the pumps…”
Really?? “WE are saving”???
His statement has been repeatedly played on every news channel, reinforcing the idea that it is true. It isn’t. Reductions in the price of fuel at the pump have nothing to do with any action taken by this President or the Congress. They have, in fact, been responsible for INCREASE in fuel prices on two fronts: their general inaction to promote energy development and the excessive regulation of the same.
But what is really going on here, with that statement? The illusion is being created that somehow Americans are getting a bargain at the pumps. Hmmm… enter Senator John Thune. Increases in gas tax should be “on the table”. “I don’t like tax increases… BUT…”
Maybe Obama and the new Congress WILL do something together!
