Obedience to the laws of God…
… will bring hatred upon you in ways that have yet to be seen and difficult to imagine. An example of this is the anti-Semitism Jews have experienced and Christians as well for thousands of years. In my mind past evils are raising their heads again in the form of militant Islam, atheists who want all evidence of Christianity removed and a politically correct society that has no moral compass in setting standards of right and wrong.
A Biblical personality who emulates this hatred is seen in Haman. It was Haman’s wish to see all Jews killed (Esther 3:8) because Mordecai did not bow to him. That same desire to destroy today exists toward those who hold to God’s Word without compromise. The media and ‘elite’ in most all walks of life will attack us for our faith demanding not just tolerance but acceptance of their ways and thoughts. This we must never do no matter how these individuals or groups may come after us.
In situations where we are confronted by the Hamans of this world we must not roll over and die or give up but be smarter than those who would belittle, destroy or even kill us such as Esther did by inviting Haman to a banquet where the meal was in a manner of speaking ‘crow’ that Haman had to eat in the sense that the man (Mordecai) he wanted dead he would instead have to honor.
The end result was Haman ‘was cooked in his own stew’. That is to say he was hung on the gallows he intended for Mordecai. God’s plan for good to those who follow Him will always happen no matter how many Hamans attack us. The key is whether we can answer in the affirmative the question ARE YOU READY FOR HAMAN?
THOUGHT FOR TODAY: The Hamans of the world will hang themselves in their hatred for those destined for Heaven.
DEVOTIONAL VERSE FOR TODAY: Ruth 3:8 “Hamans evil plot”.
PRAYER FOR TODAY: Lord strengthen me to thwart the Hamans of this world.
QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT:
1. Are you able to resist the Hamans of this world?
2. How are Christians being attacked?
3. Who wants to silence believers in God?
4. What Haman can you take on today?
4. How can we today pray the prayer of Psalm 59 with effectiveness?
