Hey….what’s going on? I think there should be MANY laws passed this year that should be declared subversive and put to a referendum…what was SB69 and SB177 about again? I probably know them by their content but cannot place them by their number off hand…
SB 69 is the “Stop Gordon Howie” bill…. really, it makes it very difficult for an Independent to get on the ballot. Reduces the total number of required signatures, but shortens the collection time and does not allow any signatures except registered Independents on nominating petitions. It’s being dubbed the “incumbent protection” bill.
SB 177 seeks to overturn a portion of the minimum wage referendum, which is an arrogant disregard for what the voters passed by over 55%
The bottom line, in my view is that the Legislature continues in its relentless march to strengthen their grip on power and ignore the people of SD
Thank you, Gordon, for lending your voice to this important cause. Readers, we may disagree on many issues, but please join us in helping refer SB 69 and SB 177 to a public vote. As Gordon says, they are bad laws foisted upon us by Big Government elites who don’t was exercising our liberty to rule our own state. Contact me to find out where you can sign a petition, or download petition sheets and circulate some yourself among your family and friends. We need 13,871 signatures on each by June 29.
