The Republican Presidential candidate field is large and growing.
But, do you really KNOW what positions they represent?
The Conservative Review has created a comparison chart of the candidates which gives voters a birds eye view of where each of them stand on a variety of issues. Some of the results surprised me, and changed my view of some of the contenders.
Here is how the candidates stand.
On moral issues,
Bad: Fiorina Mixed: Trump, Paul, Christie & Bush The rest of the field were rated Good
Support for 2nd amendment,
Bad: Carson, Christie, Graham, Santorum & Trump Mixed: Bush & Fiorina
Immigration,
Bad: Bush, Christie, Graham, Huckabee, Perry & Rubio Mixed: Carson, Fiorina & Paul
Candidates being rated “Bad” on 4 or more issues include Bush, Christie, Fiorina, Graham, Huckabee, Santorum & Trump
Christie was the clear winner in the “Bad” category, but there were some surprises for me.
Those with “Mixed” positions on 4 or more important issues were Bush, Christie, Fiorina, Paul & Perry
Bush took the top position in the “Mixed” rating.
The “Good” rating group, on 4 or more issues included Carson, Cruz, Jindal, Paul, Perry, Rubio & Trump
Cruz was the easy winner with 10 “Good” ratings, only one “Mixed” and no “Bad”
Jindal and Rubio were second, with 7 “Good”, 3 “Mixed” and 1 “Bad” rating
While this evaluation, as with most, may be subjective to some degree, it does present a good opportunity to see how the candidates generally stack up. If your favorite doesn’t rate as well as you thought (or hoped), maybe you should do some homework to see why. It helped me move some candidates from the “maybe” column to the “not likely” column when I cast my vote.
Don’t give your vote to someone who doesn’t represent your values.
