I wasn’t at the Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C. as I have been on many occasions in the past,
but it sounds like the solid folks who usually attend still know a good thing when they see it.
Texas Senator and presidential candidate Ted Cruz won the Values Voter Straw Poll for the third year straight.

From The Hill:
Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) – R won the Values Voter Summit straw poll for the third year in a row on Saturday, a strong showing of support from evangelical voters for his 2016 presidential bid.
The firebrand Texas Senator won a whopping 35 percent of the poll of summit-goers, ahead of runner-up Ben Carson’s 18 percent. That margin is significantly wider than last year, where he edged out Carson by just 5 percentage points.
Former Ark. Gov. Mike Huckabee (Ark.) took third with 14 percent, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) with 13 percent. Real estate magnate Donald Trump finished a distant fifth with 5 percent.
Carson won the event’s poll for vice president.
Said FRC President Tony Perkins in a press release on the poll results:
“Social conservatives don’t expect Republicans to win every fight but they are tired of GOP leaders entering political battles waving a white flag. Every candidate who spoke made unequivocal stands on both the social and security challenges facing our nation, which clearly resonated with the values voters.
“While each candidate offered his vision for a post-Obama America, values voters sent their own message: we are not looking for a Republican president who will just stop the detrimental policies of the Obama Administration. We are looking for a leader who will undo the damage this President has done to our country and our culture.”
Though Ben Carson has made some mistakes in his rhetoric (e.g. selective access to the Second Amendment), I could definitely live with him as vice president. Bobby Jindal would be a better choice, but unfortunately he got into the race too late to get much traction this time around.
Some of the real RINOs (Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina) didn’t attend the Values Voter Summit, but it’s probably no loss for anyone. Most of the people there knew that these candidates aren’t committed to traditional American values.
The fact that Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) – IS committed to the values that made the United States the greatest nation in history is why he has topped the straw poll for three years running.
Cruz has demonstrated that he’ll not only fight the Leftists in the Democrat Party to restore American values, he’ll fight the infiltrators, sellouts and traitors in the Republican Party as well. Like myself and most others in the Republican base, Cruz recognizes that without Republican values (which are really nothing more than traditional American values), the Republican Party is worthless. Cruz understands that it is principles, not blind party allegiance, that can save this last best hope of earth.
If you love America, I invite you get behind Ted Cruz and make sure that status quo RINOs don’t steal the primary once again. If we are to have a hope of restoring America to freedom and greatness, 2016 is almost certainly our last chance. Let’s get it right!
