I applaud Governor Dennis Daugaard for his budget proposal made before the South Dakota Legislature on January 19, 2011.
His straightforward approach and commitment to balancing the South Dakota budget without increases in taxes or use of reserves is commendable.
The budget cuts proposed will not be easy nor painless but will honor the will of the people of South Dakota.
I salute you, Governor Daugaard.
