So, in the last couple months…
America has spent 1.6 billion dollars between Star Wars and the Powerball. (I realize all of Star Wars money wasn’t spent in the USA, but bear with me for my point here, please. ?)
Now….I have no qualms with entertainment, don’t get me wrong. I myself have an entertainment budget. And I myself purchased tickets for the jackpot.
But let’s think, for a moment. Let’s say that 1% of the people that saw Star Wars or bought lottery tickets decided …to use their money to do something for someone else, instead. Just 1 out of 100 people.
Instead of buying a movie ticket, or spending $10 on a couple power ball tickets, they chose to buy a coffee for a stranger, donate non-perishables to a food bank, provide a meal to a homeless person, or just place it on someone’s windshield with a “have a nice day” note…..
Can you imagine? Can you imagine the impact that 16 MILLION dollars would have when spent just on paying it forward?? On making someone else smile? Can you imagine the amazing good that would do in 2016, in a society where everyone is out for themselves?
Makes my head spin.
Ok, sorry for the interruption. Just sharing a piece of the mind of Steph. Carry on!
