I am a happy person.

Depression hasn’t been an issue in my life.

EXCEPT… for a brief period of time.  I can clearly recall the time when depression settled in on me so deeply that I could hardly even get out of bed.  Helpless, hopeless, useless and unable to pull myself out.  It was emotional AND physical.

One morning I managed to get into my auto and drive.  I didn’t have a destination, it just seemed like I had to do SOMETHING.  As I drove toward town I somehow had the presence of mind to call a Pastor I know.  “I am battling depression, and just can’t get through it.  Can you pray for me”, I asked.  His response was a powerful blessing, “Yes, come over right now!”

When I arrived at his church, he prayed for me, taking authority over the spiritual oppression.  After a short time of prayer I left the church.  That was about 10:00 in the morning.  Within a half hour or so, the depression lifted.  It hasn’t returned.  Praise the Lord!!

I know that depression can be the result of a physical or chemical imbalance.  In that case, you should see a doctor.

Don’t discount the possibility that it can also be spiritual in origin.  Demonic spirits can oppress or even possess an individual.  In that case, you need prayer.  Find someone who knows how to take authority over the forces of wickedness that seek to destroy you.  God has made provision for our victory over ALL the power of the enemy.

You too, can beat depression!
