The most recent Republican debate turned nasty, early on.
That might have been helpful for voters.
It gave everyone an opportunity to get a better look at what a Trump Presidency might look like. Slash and burn. His attack against other candidates on stage provided a glimpse of the real Donald Trump. Trump proved that his is, indeed, king of the “nasty” contest.
When Bush defended his brother, George W., Trump responded by essentially blaming W. for the attack on 911. It was anything but a pleasant exchange.
Senator Cruz effectively pointed out Trump’s support for abortion (including partial birth abortion), gun control and other less-than-conservative positions. Trump capped that conversation by calling Cruz the single biggest liar in the contest.
If America wants a leader who has the best ability to bully, slander and spew vulgarity, Trump is the candidate.
I think America is better than that.
