Donald Trump signed a pledge with the Republican party.
That was then, this is now.
He has begun using “the pledge” as a weapon of manipulation to threaten the Republican party. His proclamation that the RNC is “in default” sets the stage for him to claim that it wasn’t him that broke the pledge. It is typical Trump. His promise is always good… as long as it benefits him.
One might ask just how good his other “promises” are. Promises like making Mexico pay for a border wall or that he will make us all ‘happy’. His campaign rhetoric is replete with generic promise of great deals and winning, albeit short on details. He is careful to always give himself a back door through which he can escape.
His supporters are content, taking him at his word.
Just how good is his word?
