The Bruce Jenner influence won over Governor Daugaard.
The South Dakota House and Senate passed a bill that would have protected little girls and young women from males wanting to share bathrooms, lockers and showers with them.
HB 1008 required that access to these facilities in public schools be restricted to the biological sex at birth, rather than the sex of “preference”.
Simply stated, boys with boys and girls with girls. That seems pretty straightforward. It also seem RIGHT.
Not to the Governor. He vetoed the bill.
Another in a list of Daugaard disappointments.
