The Founders of our country understood the basic principles of freedom.

The Declaration of Independence is a document which demonstrates the vital connection between God, the people and their government.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,

God gave use the rights to:

Life… from the time life begins until the last breath

Liberty… freedom from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views

Pursuit of happiness… living your life in a way that pleases you

The purpose of government as defined by the Founding Fathers, is to SECURE our rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Another, often ignored, principle is that government and elected officials are empowered by the CONSENT of those who are subject to the government.

It would follow that anyone supporting these foundational principles would respect the inclusion of God in the governing process, support less government control, smaller government, less regulation, lower taxes, less government spending and protection of life.

I don’t consent to being governed by anyone who does not support these principles.

“It’s not about right or left, it’s about Right or Wrong.”
