Political insiders have lost popularity in this election cycle.
I wonder how many people realize there are actually two kinds of “insiders” in the political process.
Those who occupy the offices obviously make the rules and control the process. They are called “insiders” because they are part of a team. The team works to benefit themselves. Money, power and prestige is their reward for engineering the process to benefit the “insiders” on the outside.
The “insiders” on the outside are those for whom the process is designed. They don’t occupy the offices. They simply control those who do. It allows them sweet government contracts and special privileges that make them money. LOTS of money. Billions of dollars. (Some of them even brag about how much money they have made, as if that were some kind of badge of honor.) In exchange for this, they happily pad the pockets and campaign accounts of the “insiders” on the inside.
It all works so well. For them. Not so much for you and me.
It works the same in New York City as it does in South Dakota. Large political contributions are made to elected officials who vote correctly on issues that benefit the “insiders” on the outside.
Here’s the question: How does America benefit by electing a President who is an “insider” from the outside? Isn’t it just singing the same song in a different key? Does anyone else wonder how someone BUYING influence and power is any better than those who are SELLING it?
Our government was designed to by “Of, By and For the People”.
Not of, BUY and for the people…
