What’s even better, is that he will be arriving soon to make his home at the Holy Cow Ranch in South Dakota. To say we are excited would be an understatement.
Top Hand measures just short of 72″ Tip to Tip. If that were the whole story he might not be as impressive. The rest of the story is that he broke off approximately 11″ at an early age. That would make him well over 80″ Tip to Tip.
His pedigree confirms that he is something special too. He is a son of Top Caliber (almost 88″ T2T), who is the 4th largest T2T bull in the breed. His dam is the daughter of WS Jamakizm ( 83″ T2T). The great Drag Iron (85″ T2T) is his 3/4 brother.
Top Hand is just 5 years old, and has already proven his ability to sire colorful big horned calves.
He might not make the record books, because of the horn that broke off as a youngster, but we think his progeny will be something to behold. We are grateful to Joe Sedlacek of Lazy J Longhorns for allowing us to acquire Top Hand, and Dickinson Cattle Co. for investing so much time and effort in excellence in the Longhorn breed.
