History tells us that people don’t always make good political choices.

When the masses make a demand, it doesn’t mean they are making the right choice.  One example that comes from the distant past reflects the power of the majority… even when they are wrong. 

The Israelites were given the choice between Barabbas, a convicted murderer and Jesus, the righteous Son of God.  The social environment was politically charged and the wickedness of the people loomed large.  You already know they chose to release Barabbas and demanded the crucifixion of Christ.  That should tell us something about the wisdom of the masses.

Fortunately for humanity, the wrong choice of the people was part of God’s plan for the redemption of the world.  Unfortunately, bad choices by citizens have not always produced such good results. 

America is now making political choices that will impact generations to come.  Good ones or bad ones?
