There are women without help and hope…
AND a home!
Here are a couple of their stories (names and some incidental information has been changed to protect their identity).
Jennifer:
She is currently a “couch surfer”. That is someone without a home who sleeps on a couch, going from one house to another. She has had to shuffle from one house to another as people allow her to use their couch for a short time. Jennifer is a young woman who is going on five months pregnant. She has no family that can/will take her in. Her “boyfriend” won’t help. His only offer of help is to say he would give her $5,000.00 if she would “take care of it” by having an abortion. Jennifer is hanging on, refusing to take the money and have an abortion. That leaves her homeless and helpless. She is without hope, except for a compassionate person who has been letting her sleep on a mattress paced on the floor in their home. Jennifer needs some help, some hope and a home!
Mary:
She is another young woman who is alone and pregnant. She does not want to abort her baby. Mary’s family could help… if they would. They won’t. They are a respected, wealthy “Christian” family. They are embarrassed that Mary is pregnant. They have told her she must have an abortion to avoid “humiliating” them. Mary has been given the choice to either have an abortion or be disowned by her family. Mary has made her choice… life for her baby, regardless of the personal cost to her. And cost her, it will. She is alone, without a job or anyone to help.
These are only the stories of two young women in crisis. There are MANY more. They need SOMEONE to care… SOMEONE to help.
The Faith and Family Foundation can and will help co-ordinate the financial and human resources to change the lives of these and other women in desperate circumstances. The most pressing need at this moment is a PLACE to help them. If you have a house you can donate, we will put it to work, providing a safe place for them. If not a house, maybe you can help with some other resource.
