You may not have tomorrow.
Someone once said, “Everyone who died last night had plans for today.”
During the last several days I have had the opportunity to see the pain in the lives of many people. One family is dealing with the destructive drug addiction of their son. A husband is facing the doctor’s prognosis that his wife may not live more than 90 days. A young mother of four was planning to hang herself. A family is struggling with the death of a loved one.
There is more, but you get the point.
There is no shortage of pain in this world. It is part of the deal.
Times like this cause me to contemplate what God may be asking me to do. I would like to help. You would too. Our lives are so consumed with the busyness and routine that we can easily get lost.
My pray for you today is that you look around and count your blessings.
After you have finished that assignment, help someone who is suffering.

It’s not always easy to know who is in trouble or needs help. One must pay constant attention. And never assume that someone else will help. Yes, maybe sometimes you will barge into situations and make them worse. That’s always a risk. But having to live with the knowledge that one didn’t try to help when one knew help was needed, when there was a bad outcome, is also a risk. Take that chance. Try to help if you see help is needed. If you are told to piss off, then OK, at least you tried.
