God’s Two Books and Prepper Values
Presidential debates are mostly theater. Only a foolish candidate would pursue fact-footnoted logical exposition in such a carnival atmosphere. Statistics really don’t mean much out of context, do they? Best to give people the entertainment they crave.
Instead, let instinct be the voter’s guide, however less than perfect. Vote your conscience. For Ted Cruz this means Donald Trump.
Instinct? This was a key principle when God made heaven and the natural world. The Book of Nature stands with the Bible as pathways to understanding what God is all about. Science struggles to keep up with newfound knowledge. Sadly, the moral values that God embedded in making the animal world are easily brushed aside. For example, God has built some form of self-defense into all plants and animals. Nature is God’s handiwork and reveals God’s purpose, just as the Bible does.
Instinct is an especially good political guide in the presidential campaign when all ideas are filtered through a media unanimously bent on maintaining liberal privilege and establishment power. One-sided spinning continues around the clock, all but smothering any independent thoughts.
My recent posts have included mention of how Mormons have a church-wide program in place to deal with a global crisis if the grid goes down, as if “God helps those who help themselves.” Mormon prayers undoubtedly avoid simply wishing for a handout, whether from the government, a private relief agency, or from God.
God has already given the appropriate survival strategy. Millions of Christian Armenians and Jews during the World Wars might have been saved if they had heeded God’s survivalist and prepper wisdom. Armed self-defense is as important as stockpiling food—and must be taught daily as older generations prepare younger ones to meet uncertain futures.
