One Trillion dollars in infrastructure spending.

Where does the money come from?

The Trump plan to rebuild America’s infrastructure was loudly cheered during his campaign.  The cheering may subside if the plan includes toll roads.  “Public-private partnerships” is part of the proposal being floated.  That could mean private companies would build roads and charge for travel to produce a return on investment.

The argument being used to support the idea is, “people who use the roads would pay for them”.

People might not be enthusiastic about the need to take a five gallon bucket of quarters to travel across America.  A toll road is nothing more than another way to collect a tax.  “Making America Great Again” shouldn’t include tax increases.

At this point, toll roads are just being “talked about”.

Let’s hope it ends there.
