The store clerk was stabbed to death.

If you live in Rapid City, South Dakota, you have probably heard this tragic story.  A convenience store employee was murdered by two thieves stealing beer.  Kasi Lord was 45 years old.  19 year old Cody Grady is in custody, charged with what police describe as a “brutal” stabbing murder.  Charges are pending for the second suspect, a 17 year old.

It’s a tragedy on so many levels.  This  woman, (Kasi Lord) is dead.  Her family is left to deal with their grief and their life without her.  The life of 19 year old (Cody Grady) is forever changed… wasted over a beer.  His family also has to deal with the consequences of his actions.  The other teen and his family face similar challenges.

This shouldn’t happen in a nice town like Rapid City.  Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens every day in communities across America.  It’s a product of our drug culture.  The very root of this problem, and this specific incident, is a SIN problem.

The denial and rejection of God and removal of prayer from schools is only the beginning.  Leftists have helped make sin of every kind “normal” by demanding “tolerance”.  I grew up in a time when sin was shameful.  My grandchildren are growing up in a time when sin is glamorized and celebrated.  God hasn’t changed His view on sin.  The wages of sin is still death, regardless of how society “normalizes” it.

None of us is without sin.  Not me.  Not you.  Fortunately, God provides forgiveness and transformation through Christ.  The sad, but forgotten truth is that God also has a provision for those who don’t accept Christ, and turn from their sin.  It’s called eternal damnation.  Not a popular subject in this world of “tolerance”.

Someone reminded me this week that we only have two real choices in this life.  Only two, you ask?  Yes, just two.

Holiness or Hell.
