Compromise…

… is not always a healthy thing.  Thankfully, the Freedom Caucus in the US House of Representatives appears to be willing to stand firm on principles.

“Getting something done” can mean giving in and abandoning principles, at least in Washington DC.  The Freedom Caucus sent a very clear message to Republican leaders (including the President) that they will not “go along to get along”.  Without their votes, the flawed health care proposal went down in flames.  Together with Senators Paul, Cruz and Lee, they create a wall of defense against more mushy moderate mandates.

On major issues like repealing ObamaCare and Tax reform, the Freedom Caucus has demonstrated their importance.  If this administration wants to get things done, they may have to be CONSERVATIVE things.  The Freedom Caucus has flexed its muscles and shown they might have the last word on policy.

They represent hope for positive change.
