Sandy had already been to Planned Parenthood.

Her appointment with them was the result of insistence from the father of the baby, who was pressuring Sandy to have an abortion.  Their relationship was short term and he wasn’t interested in “complicating” it with a baby.

Sandy was conflicted about the abortion decision, but had basically resolved to just go along with the father and have the abortion.  When she saw her baby for the first time, the reality of her situation moved her to tears.  All the argument about this being just a blob of tissue vanished as she watched her baby move.

She told the nurse at the Pregnancy Help Center that the ultra sound viewing of her baby “Made it real” for her.  When she left her appointment she was armed with new information.  She had plenty of options that included giving life to her baby.  She wasn’t sure if she would chose parenting or adoption.  She was sure that this baby deserved to live.
