That’s the message being sent by the media and the left.

Political discourse continue to get nastier and meaner.

Instead of looking at the root cause, Leftists, Pundits and even well-meaning conservatives are calling for a cease-fire.  Chris Wallace (who has become increasingly adversarial to conservatives over the last year or so) suggested that “both sides” view the other as evil.  Further, that we must stop calling the other side evil.

That is a formula for silencing Christians.

When the Leftist accuse conservatives of killing old people and starving children if social entitlement program funding is reduced, it goes largely unchallenged.  When Leftists are called out for promoting the killing of unborn children and the abandonment of traditional Christian values, calling them evil or wicked is considered hateful.

There is nothing inherently hateful about calling sin evil or wicked.

Those who practice or promote wickedness and sin are, indeed wicked and evil.  As it becomes less and less acceptable for Christians to speak out, those who practice and promote it essentially get a pass on their behavior.  In the process, Debaucherous behavior becomes acceptable and “normal”.  That is bad for a civilized society.

Killing unborn children is evil.  Those who do it are wicked.  Those who promote or accept it are evil.

Homosexuality is sin.  Living that lifestyle is sin.  Those who wink at it are sinning.  Sin is evil.

The Bible identifies a multitude of ways that man sins.  It declares that the heart of man is deceitfully wicked.  It also warns us against calling evil good, and good evil.  So… for my friends who are practicing sin… yes, you are wicked.  Yes, you are evil.  You are children of darkness.  You are the enemy of God.

“Come out from among them, and be ye separate.”

I am not hateful because I call you evil.  I can love you and be your friend, but I can’t call your sin acceptable to God.  I can also show you a better way to live.  You can do what I have done; accept the love and forgiveness of Christ and walk in a new way.

Redeemed and free from the curse of sin.
